Runner’s Lunge with Twist Variation

Stand in Mountain Pose at the top of your mat. Take a step back with your right foot. Bend the front knee to a right angle. Reach the arms over head. Begin twisting. Tuck your right elbow outside your left thigh.

Bend your elbows and bring your palms together in front of your chest. Press your right elbow into your left thigh to deepen the twist. Keep the legs steady and stretch back through the back heel. Inhale to come out of the pose. Step back up to the top of the mat and switch sides.

The yogic warrior is on a mission to eradicate ignorance while bringing happiness. This pose strengthens all of the leg muscles, opens the hips, strengthens the core and teaches balance. In this variation the hands remain on the hips to provide a sense of stability and grounding for the posture.

Open your feet into a wide straddle. Turn your left foot out 90 degrees and your right foot in, so that it is “pigeon-toed”. Take your hands to your hips.

Sink the hips down while lifting the chest up. Bend the front knee and hip until you feel a stretch over the front thigh and back leg. Keep the torso perpendicular to the ground.

Line the center of your left knee over the center of your left foot.

For my new role in the upcoming play, the director told me that I need to lose about ten pounds to look like the character. I have no problem having to do that. This is because there are many different teas in the world that makes it very difficult to create a complete list of them. I like the Indian teas, because they are made of only natural ingredients. Their teas are called ayurvedic tea. Ayurveda is a science that has its origin more than 4000 years ago. I like to study this science and its effects on human being. Another famous group of teas are the weight loss teas. There are lots of people using tea as a method for weight loss. Green tea is the main ingredient in this diet. I prefer to go back to drinking tea each time I have a problem than sticking with the conventional prescriptions you get from your doctor that sometimes don’t even work.

My Brother's Fitness Program

My little brother loves to work out and has always been interested in fitness. He just told me this morning that he can now bench press four hundred and five pounds. I think that is pretty impressive considering that I can barely pick up the forty five pound bar. He usually is on a special diet and can never seem to decide if he wants to bulk up or get lean. His diet foods usually include turkey meat, tuna fish and eggs. When I visit him at his home and I look in the refrigerator those are the things I see. He started doing the Shaun T Insanity program a while ago. He seems to like it and thinks its very well put together. He says I should try to do it. Unfortunately I do not have the same enthusiasm for fitness that he does. I would rather watch television than go to the gym.
